This lakefront cottage in Ontario was designed for a large multi-generational family, balancing the need for both privacy and shared experience. The plan is organized around distinct zones of retreat and gathering, with private bedroom wings complemented by expansive communal living and dining spaces that form the heart of the home.

Responding to the constraints of a short construction season, the project embraces a prefabricated approach utilizing pre-framed wall and floor panels to improve efficiency, precision, and construction quality. A series of generous outdoor living spaces extend the home into the landscape, while a permeable design blurs the boundary between indoors and out. Natural materials and carefully framed views create a retreat that is deeply connected to its lakeside setting and the rhythms of the surrounding environment.
